Each year I meet with well over 100 prospective students and parents from Nassau and Suffolk in respect to taking piano lessons and playing the piano.

And because so many folks know my thoughts and feelings (from this website) on all things ‘Piano’ they often ask me who are some of the other teachers and studios we have in the area that can help them improve their piano playing.

I’m never one to shy away from being blatantly honest with respect to competition, and I want potential students and parents to be as informed as possible.

Here is a list of some of the teachers/ studios that have a solid piano teaching history on Long Island.

1. Grace Music School

Grace Music school is located in Melville. They offer singing lessons, piano lessons and offer lessons for other instruments.

2. New York Music Academy (NYMA)

Having been around for years, New York Music Academy or NYMA for short is located in Amityville and specialize in performance based lessons.

They also also teach piano and has a heavy emphasis on orchestra and band.

3. Center stage or Music and Arts

Another staple in the Long Island piano lesson market over the years, At Center Stage, education is their specialization.

4. Grand Piano Studio

Located in Bellmore New York, Robert who runs and teaches Grand Piano Studio has also been teaching on Long Island for many years.

He focus on how to read music, music theory and how to improv on the piano.
